 Artwork guidelines

We prefer electronic artwork wherever possible as this produces a much higher quality print result.  The following formats are acceptable to us:

EPS Encapsulated Postscript file

Cdr Corel Draw file format – this is our preferred software application

Adobe Illustrator file format – please ensure version is no later than CS2

PDF Portable Document File

All of the above file formats need text converted to curves/paths/outlines.

Tiff, Jpg, BMP and Gif files are not editable. There may be art charges for conversion of these file formats. The resolution of these is often too low to use successfully.

Website images:  Web based art is too low in resolution to use successfully.

DOC Word Documents are not suitable. There may be art charges for conversion of these file formats.

When supplying artwork on disk Please use the Following:

PC CD or Floppy Disk

Bromides/Hard Copy: Bromides are excellent for one colour logos, if you cannot get anything else. If a bromide is unavailable, a hard copy may be sufficient as long as it is of good quality and has no halftone images.  The larger the copy the better, but ensure it is no bigger than A4 size.  If you post or courier bromides or hard copy please ensure that you do not staple or fold through the image as this will damage the artwork. If after reading the above you are still unsure of the art requirements or have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

Setup guidelines

Embroidery designs :-  Ideally we require an image of good quality at least twice the size of the desired embroidered product. In most cases we do not charge for creating the embroidery file.

Screen or Pad print :- Normally require a Adobe or Corel Draw file, other file types are generally unsuited for multi color prints and may incur a charge to make the file usable. Due to the high cost of materials involved in setting up screen and pad print jobs setup charges for the initial setup and reduced charges for subsequent setups do apply. Unless prior arrangements have been made silk screens will be cleaned off and re-used after a maximum of 3 months, further jobs in this case will require a full new setup (artworks are retained so new artwork charges will not be changed).

Please note any changes to designs effectively require brand new artworks, screens and plates, setups and will be charged accordingly.

Digital Print :- for prints the same size as what you can produce from your office computer only require the same file as you would use to print them yourself but for posters, banners and signs we require either an extremely high quality image ( typically in the order of several megabytes), Corel Draw or Ai  files.
